Sometimes it's hard to reconcile t...Great post! Sometimes it's hard to reconcile the way we were taught to be with what people expect of us now that we're pursuing our passion for writing. While we may want to break out and be our original selves, sometimes there's comfort in being who we were taught to be, if not briefly, because the world seems to expect us to be spectacular these days. My comment isn't all that thought out but you touched on my confused feelings at times. Like there are 3 me's - the me I was taught to be (well-behaved, normal nice girl), the me people expect me to be now (some kind of thick-skinned writer who isn't allowed to be in touch with my sensitive side or confused about this world spinning so fast it's hard to keep up) and the real me - a bit of both.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
